Bio

Kathy and her husband Howard are from Covington, VA, where her husband Howard pastored the Covington Bible Church for forty-two years. Kathy began and taught “Coffee Break”--a ladies Bible study and women’s ministry--that it is still going, and was also Music Director at CBC.  She taught piano lessons, Kindermusik, and preschool music classes for the local YMCA.

Howard & Kathy retired from the pastorate in 2015. Howard taught at the Pacific Islands University Extension on the island of Palau for four months in 2016, and then moved to the PIU Guam campus from 2017-2021. There Howard was president and teacher and Kathy taught music, mentored students, was “First Lady”, worked in maintenance/decorating, and served as campus hostess – our second career!  Howard is still “pastoring” missionaries in the mission we are affiliated with and is interim pastor in a little church about 45 minutes from Covington.  Kathy plays the piano for the church.

We have two sons Chad – a pastor in Rock Hill, SC, and Chris who helped start

Hartwell University – an online University for prospective teachers to get an affordable degree and learn a Christian Worldview.  We have seven wonderful grandchildren--two are married.

Things I like to do: decorate, walk, still teach piano, travel and camp in our little vintage camper which Howard rebuilt, and stay involved in women’s lives and ministry.
